Higher Learning (Part 3)

Higher Learning
A Lucy Winthrop Adventure

Part Three
(The Learning Curve)

The first parts of this story can be found below

Wednesday morning for Dr. Stevens started out just like every other morning. A quick jump in the shower, a lukewarm cup of coffee, a quick kiss for his wife goodbye and of course the standard NPR talk radio on the way to work. He was comfortable with his job, his wife and his life in general but he was tiring of the monotony. A change of pace would definitely do him some good. He was coming close to tenure at the university but was contemplating a move to another less popular collegiate establishment. The students in his current classes had become too predictable and dull. None of them seemed to have that zest or fire that he did when he was a student. Music was his passion. It was why he taught. He wanted to share that passion with others who thought like him but instead he dealt with students that took his courses because that’s what they were supposed to do. That was the track their parents or counselors put them on. Aside from a few gifted and talented students he tried to inspire, the rest were just simple animated Ken and Barbie dolls. Dr. Stevens shook his head in disgust as he walked into the lecture hall and down to his desk. He was there as usual 45 minutes to an hour early. Just in case someone needed him, but it had been a while since any student sought out his help. He didn't even bother turning on the lights. There were just the emergency ones on over by the door and above his desk. He thought to himself that would suffice for now as he flipped open his laptop and began browsing the local current events on Reuters.

Moments later Luce paced nervously outside of the lecture hall. Back and forth, back and forth she went trying to convince herself to go inside. She had spent all day yesterday, with the help of her roommate Tanith, in preparing for this moment and now she was unsure. She was extremely early for class but that had been the plan all along at least according to what Tanith had said. No other students were around and they wouldn't be for at least another half hour. “Oh come on now” Luce muttered to herself trying to sum up the courage to go in. “This is every man’s dream come true” she then laughed to herself realizing how cheesy she sounded. “It’s now or never” she said and with that she opened the door to the lecture hall and went inside.

Dr. Stevens half looked up from his desk expecting perhaps maintenance or maybe the cleaning crew coming back for some unfinished work. Instead he was pleasantly surprised. Lucy Winthrop stood in the doorway bathed in the soft light of one of the only lights on in the room. She had paused a moment when she saw him eyeing her. It seemed as though she caught her breath. Dr. Stephens had half risen from his chair with his mouth open unable to really say anything. As she stood there he noticed that there was something different about Lucy. Her hair, brown with big but subtle soft curls, hung just in front of her shoulders surrounding her pale face when it was usually pulled back and tied. Her facial features stood out in the dim light of the room. She had just enough pink in her cheeks that the blush perfectly accented her sharp chin and huge dimples. Both of which were perfectly set as she smiled down at him from the top of the walkway. Dr. Stevens thought to himself how she reminded him of Snow White in a Broadway production he once was a consultant for. For what seemed like forever they just stared at one another in silence until finally Dr. Stevens spoke up. “Luce…I mean…Lucy...Miss Winthrop… What…I mean how are you this morning?” He straightened himself gaining his composure. “Is there something I can do for you?” he asked. Luce glided down the stairs and paused within a few feet of his desk. She gave him her best smile as she walked forward. “Dr. Stevens I really need help with a few things” she said huskily, making sure to keep eye contact with him just as Tanith had suggested.

At this point Luce sat on the corner of his desk with her legs in just the perfect position to be seen. Dr. Stevens, sat, or practically fell back into his seat while eyeing her from toe to head. “What…What is it that I can help you with” he responded unintentionally licking his lips. At this point Lucy proceeded talking but Dr. Stevens didn't really hear a word she had said. He was currently processing the beauty of this once timid student now turned fantasy vixen sitting in front of him on his desk a mere foot away. His thoughts were inappropriate and wrong. He had never felt this way before about a student. Her long slender legs ran right up into a very short plaid skirt in the most wonderful way. She was a textbook Lolita. Short black belted loafers that gave way to simple calf high white lace cotton socks that in turn led to those wonderful legs. It was winter so the sun did not have the opportunity to bronze her skin just yet. But the creamy whiteness of her smooth skin was perfect just as is. Dr. Stevens licked his lips again and Lucy stopped talking. The room was silent. His eyes left her legs and traveled across her skirt pausing for a brief moment wondering what type of panties hid beneath that skirt. He half chided himself mentally but couldn't stop. He was so fixated on her he did not even realize Luce no longer spoke. Her perfume, Light Blue by Dolce and Gabbana, was just the perfect mix of subtle powdery sweetness and fresh light flowers and as it enveloped him he inhaled deeply. He saw that the top she wore was simple; a white button down shirt that flared a bit at the sleeves but remained fastened by simple black buttons. He also noticed it strained a bit against her size d or double d breast and the lace of her bra was slightly exposed since her top three buttons were unfastened. “He had to have her he thought to his self and then shook his head no. It was a struggle he had never dealt with. When Dr. Stevens finally looked up his heart nearly stopped as he stared memorized by her unblinking green gold flecked eyes.

“Uhm…Dr. Stevens?” Luce asked knowing she had him locked in. She smiled wickedly while he stammered to respond. “This actually works” she thought to herself. By then Dr. Stevens had regained his composure and responded to what he pieced together from her earlier words, “Yes, yes I can help you with choosing your Master’s Program and with your finals paper”. Luce gave him her best school girl smile, dimples and all. “That’s wonderful then so it’s agreed then, tonight around 8?” she said standing up and moving toward him seemingly unintentional way. At that very same moment not knowing what to do and caught off guard Dr. Stevens stood up. They were practically against each other and Luce loved it. She could smell his cologne. It was Drakkar she had loved that smell on him since day one. She so wanted this man she thought looking up into his eyes. Dr. Stevens responded stammering, “Yes…Uhm…around 8 would be good” Dr. Stevens swallowed hard not knowing what else to say his heart was racing, he wanted to take her into his arms right there. “My Office around 8 agreed” he uttered once again. A huge smile spread across Luce’s face and as the door to the lecture hall opened she stepped away from Dr. Stevens gathering her books off his desk. She began to walk up the aisle to leave and while going past two students coming down the walkway she smiled to herself when she swore she thought she heard Dr. Stevens finally exhale.
