The Knock
The Tanith Blinn Experience: Escaping Ordinary
Tanith was startled by a knock at the door. She glanced at the clock on the wall as she
slowly approached the doorway and looked through the peep hole. It was him and her stomach nearly caught fire
right then and there, burning with a nervous excitement. “I told him not to come” she thought to
herself as she hesitated with the lock.
A moment passed as she worked up the courage to answer the door and in
that time he knocked again, this time softer and unsure. “God you are a crazy women” she muttered
under her breath and began opening the door slowly. When it was open far enough to see him her
breath caught. He smiled and she smiled
back. For a brief moment there was only
silence as they stared at one another, both not knowing what to do next.
Finally the silence was broken when Tanith spoke up. “I told you that I had something going on and
we couldn't meet. “ “I know” he replied
quietly. “I just had to chance the fact
that you were scared. I never actually
thought I would do it and here I am.”
Tanith just shook her head smiling at him standing there. Again, there was another pause as they each
pondered what to do next. Finally Tanith
threw caution to the wind and invited him in.
He accepted her invite anxiously and followed behind her. As she closed the door and turned to him, he
couldn't help but notice she was wearing everything he had asked her to wear
for this meeting. The very meeting she
had canceled a few hours earlier with an excuse that they both had forgotten
about now.
She was gorgeous standing there as she allowed him to drink her
in with his eyes. With heels she stood
nearly six feet tall and inviting. She had a very form fitting pencil skirt
that made the curve in her hips simply enthralling. Her blouse was an inconspicuous one that
didn't take away from the beauty in her face.
She had just enough blush in her cheek contrasting against her smooth
white skin that it was like she had stepped from black and white Hollywood. His favorite part of her up to this point was
how she had her long strawberry red hair pulled to side and tied with a simple
large white bow. She was a wonderful
woman to look at. Eventually he broke from
staring at Tanith and spoke. “For
someone who couldn't meet with me this morning you sure look prepared.” Tanith laughed a little and responded with a
clear nervousness in her voice. “I know,
but I also knew there was a chance you would ignore me and come anyway, and to
be honest I am kind of glad you did. Do you want a glass of water or something?
How about sitting down?” She said
motioning to the couch in her tiny apartment.
“I’d like that” he responded as they both sat. Again the awkwardness was nearly palpable.
